Murudeshwar

Murudeshwar is defined by one unforgettable sight — a towering Shiva statue rising above the Arabian Sea, visible long before you reach the temple itself. The beach beneath it is calm and photogenic, especially at sunset, and the whole town has an easy, pilgrimage-meets-seaside atmosphere. It works well as a day-trip stop or an overnight halt, with simple hotels and lodges catering mainly to pilgrims and coastal travellers. A short drive further brings you to Jog Falls for those with extra time.
ClimateCoastal town — hot and humid, heavy rain in monsoon.
